SYNERGY COMMERCIAL ADVISORS SUPPORTS BAND TOGETHER, LUCY DANIELS CENTER FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD

MORRISVILLE, N.C.  – (June 6, 2009) – Band Together NC, a 501c3 non-profit organization that raises funds for charitable organizations, collected approximately $140,000 in donations for its 2009 Charity Partner, The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood.  Synergy Commercial Advisors was pleased to be able to contribute $3,025 to this year’s fundraising.  Synergy’s Managing Director, Rich Harris, has been a board member since 2008 and has raised funds for Band Together’s chosen charities since 2006.

Band Together NC focuses on raising money and awareness for select charities through events that showcase and support musical talent.  Established in 2001, the Group has raised approximately $700,000 for other organizations including SAFEchild, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle, Wake County Boys and Girls Clubs, Special Olympics North Carolina, Operation Smile, Music Maker Relief Foundation, Stop Hunger Now for Tsunami Relief, and the Food Bank of Eastern North Carolina for local and Gulf Coast Katrina Relief.  “Band Together consists of an impressive group of local individuals that do a tremendous job raising money every year for a selected charity,” remarks Rich Harris.  “The mantra is ‘raise funds, raise awareness, raise the bar’ and Band Together has done that.  Synergy Commercial Advisors is happy to assist them with those efforts.”  This year marks the second year that Synergy’s personnel have assisted with fundraising, pre-event ticket sales, securing silent auction items and volunteering the day of the event. 

This year’s Band Together NC concert featured Chatham County Line, HOBEX, The Rosebuds and Rusted Root, drawing more than 2,700 people to the Lincoln Theater in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, June 6.  The Silent Auction brought in $18,367 and the Guitar Raffle raised $2,500.

The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood is a private, non-profit program devoted to promoting the healthy emotional development of young children by providing a broad range of nationally honored mental health services for children in Wake, Durham and Orange Counties. LDC assists children 11 years old or younger having behavioral or social difficulties or showing signs of emotional problems through mental health assessments, family counseling, therapy in both one-on-one and classroom settings, and early childhood programs.  Nearly 50 percent of LDC’s annual budget comes from donations and less than 10 percent of families pay the full cost for LDC’s services, so the contributions will be largely helping families that would otherwise not be able to afford the care available at the Center.  “Band Together is an amazing 100-percent all-volunteer organization, and the Center is grateful to have been chosen as this year’s charity partner,” said Joyce Watkins King, director of development for the Lucy Daniels Center.  “To be able to raise more than $125,000 during tough economic times is an incredible accomplishment that the Lucy Daniels Center Board, Band Together Board and all the volunteers should be extremely proud of.”
